When Andrew Bailey’s appointment to President of Proximity Canada was announced in August 2007, there was widespread applause amongst staff and clients alike. No one was more aptly qualified to assume the role.

Joining Proximity as VP Interactive in 2005, his positive leadership and strong client relationships saw the business grow exponentially. From a team of four, Andrew was directing a team of nearly 50 digital specialists within just 18 months, making his division the flagship of the Proximity offering.

The business results Andrew’s team helped achieve for his clients rapidly earned industry recognition, with the coveted title of Marketing Magazine’s 2006 Digital Agency of the Year.

Prior to joining the agency, Andrew developed his experience and reputation as a leader in all aspects of advertising, both within Canada and the UK.

Beginning as a graphic designer, he established his first successful business while still in his teens. Having graduated with a degree in business, Andrew joined the client service ranks of Leo Burnett. There he worked on brand advertising for clients in a wide range of sectors, including consumer packaged goods, financial services and tourism.

As Director of Client Service for award-winning UK agency Deepend, he honed his knowledge of the digital channel. Returning to his advertising agency roots, Andrew wasted no time in growing FCBi’s interactive department from eight to 25 in under two years.

Now a leading member of the worldwide Proximity Digital Board of Directors, he both contributes to and benefits from a group dedicated to sharing world’s best practice in Digital and Direct. Andrew is also a recent graduate of the prestigious Ominicom University’s Advanced Management programme.

Recognized recently by Marketing Magazine in their prestigious Ones to Watch: Marketing’s Next Generation, Andrew is a popular and respected leader.
