Senior Vice President, Executive Managing Director
BBDO Toronto

Paul is not a traditional agency guy. His work experience started in Montreal where he spent his summers as a teller (that’s what they were called then) at the Royal Bank (that’s what it was called then). After experiencing 4 armed robberies he decided to continue his studies in Toronto. Not to suggest he was a suspect.

After business school he worked in management consulting at Ernst & Young and then in a research consulting firm developing business and marketing strategies for brands such as RBC, Citibank, Ontario Hydro, Bayer, Esso and CTV. He knows a lot about marketing corporate sweep accounts, new TV networks and yeast infection treatments.

Paul then spent 4 years at Rogers where he helped to relaunch the brand as well as introduce new products such as high-speed internet, new cable channel packages and digital cable.

Paul was drawn to the ad agency world to be a strategic planner on the Bank of Montreal at Vickers & Benson (now BMO and Arnold respectively. Paul has developed an expertise not only in marketing services but in changing names of companies). While at V&B/Arnold Paul developed brand and marketing strategies for BMO as well as integrated communications campaigns for GlaxoSmithKline, Monster, Canadian Blood Services and others.

Between agency jobs, Paul was a General Manager on the President’s Choice Financial business at CIBC.

Paul joined BBDO in 2005 as SVP GAD primarily responsible for the RBC account.

Since then he has expanded his responsibility for more client business and leads the Client Service Group. Paul was formally promoted to SVP, Executive Managing Director in 2010.
