Senior Vice President, Director of Organizational Development
BBDO Canada

Siobhan McCarthy is another one of those Brits who is over here. A Cambridge graduate and respected strategist , Siobhan was formerly Vice President, Account Planning, of BBDO Toronto and brings 20 years experience gained with blue chip clients in Europe and North America in both client service and strategic planning roles.

Glossing over her misspent youth, she spent 3 happy years at Cambridge University discovering that May Balls take place in June, and hearing a lot more Latin that you would expect in the later half of the 20th Century.

Entering advertising immediately after graduating with honours in 1985, she learnt the important ropes working on a series of blue chip clients: Marks & Spencer (fashion, food and financial services) Braun, Cadbury confectionery, ICI Fibres and Club Med, SmithKline Beecham ( Aquafresh, Contac 400, Oxy, Tums ) and Mars ( Galaxy /Dove, Mars ice cream, Maltesers ) . She was appointed to Grey’s Board of Directors in 1994.

In 1996 Siobhan was tired of London, if not of life. Seeking more varied weather and less fog she relocated to Toronto with her family. Before joining BBDO Siobhan worked on the acclaimed Kool Aid and AGF campaigns during her time at Young & Rubicam as well as Chunky soup (Campbell’s’), JELL-O, Radio Shack and H&R Block.

Siobhan joined BBDO in May 1999 planning on Scotiabank, Effem Foods, Fritos Lays Canada and Dairy Farmers of Ontario. In 2001 she was promoted to the newly created national position of Vice President, Director of Organizational Development, a role BBDO created to champion the values based culture introduced by Gerry Frascione in 2000, high achievement best practices, and professional development throughout the Canadian network. In 2004 she was made a Senior Vice President of the company.

A Canadian citizen for 3 years Siobhan is proud to know all the (correct) words to the National Anthem. She has a lovely husband, 2 children, a dog, and a serious addiction to Stargate SG1.
